Here we designed and built a custom Steamers Trunk designed for the miniature train enthusiast. This gorgeous trunk is fabricated of African Mahogany and boasts all the antique steamer trunk features. Unique dovetailed joinery with triangular doves on one side and rectangular on the other……a challenging craftsmanship detail.
Leather straps, leather handles, and a steamer lock/lasp bring this beauty to life. The lid opens for display of the soon to be filled miniature model scenery complete with track and train. For operation, the drawer pulls out for train controls and storage of accessories.
The unique art-Deco style steel legs complement the trunk and neatly fold up into the bottom cavity for transporting the trunk to exhibits. Overall a stunning and beautiful piece completely designed with the romance of late 19th century train travel.
